A Different Approach to Therapeutic Bodywork
Holly Hamilton, LMT • PTA • C-NRT • NMT
I’m Holly, owner of Still Point Wellness. My approach to bodywork has been shaped by years of experience in both rehabilitation and massage therapy, along with a strong belief that effective treatment should look beyond the area that hurts.
I began working as a Physical Therapist Assistant in 2010 and became a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2018. That combination has given me a unique perspective on the relationship between soft tissue, movement, compensation patterns, previous injuries, function, and the nervous system.
Rather than providing the same massage to every client, I take an individualized, goal-focused approach. I want to understand what you are having difficulty doing, what may be limiting your movement or comfort, and what we can address through therapeutic bodywork.
My Treatment Philosophy
Pain isn’t always as simple as treating the place that hurts.
Previous injuries, surgeries, repetitive activity, changes in mobility, muscle guarding, compensation patterns, and the nervous system can all influence how someone moves and feels.
My sessions may incorporate therapeutic massage, neuromuscular techniques, focused soft-tissue work, movement observation, body awareness, and techniques intended to help down-regulate the nervous system.
For some clients, that means a longer therapeutic session. For others, a shorter, focused treatment performed more frequently may be more appropriate.
The goal is to provide the right amount of treatment for the individual—not simply fill an appointment time.
Who I Work With
- Older adults who want to maintain mobility, comfort, function, and independence
- Veterans, including eligible Veterans receiving authorized massage therapy through VA Community Care
- Workers’ Compensation clients with authorized work-related injuries
- Adults experiencing chronic muscular discomfort, soft-tissue restrictions, or movement limitations
- Individuals recovering from injury or surgery when therapeutic massage is appropriate
- People who have tried traditional massage but are looking for a more focused approach
Experience Beyond the Treatment Room
In addition to my clinical and rehabilitation background, I have experience teaching and mentoring future massage therapists and providing equine bodywork.
I am also a U.S. Air Force Veteran, and Still Point Wellness is a Veteran-Owned, Woman-Owned, and Disabled Veteran-Owned business.
My experience in rehabilitation, massage therapy, education, military service, and bodywork has shaped Still Point Wellness into something intentionally different from a traditional massage practice.
My Goal for You
I want you to leave treatment with more than temporary relief.
I want you to develop a better understanding of your body, recognize patterns that may be affecting your movement, and have a treatment approach centered around improving comfort, mobility, function, and self-awareness.
Treatment should have a purpose. That’s the foundation of Still Point Wellness.
